Package girth exceeds the limit for the selected shipping service.

Length plus girth of the package exceeds the limit of the selected shipping service. Fix the dimensions or pick a service for large parcels.

Why this happens

eBay calculates length plus girth (length + 2 x width + 2 x height) from the package dimensions and the result is larger than the maximum the chosen shipping service accepts (for example 108 in. for many USPS services). Why eBay enforces this: Carriers price and limit parcels by length plus girth. When the package dimensions exceed a service's maximum, eBay cannot offer that service and refuses the shipping settings. When it usually happens: It usually appears on bulky items such as furniture or large toys, or when dimensions were entered in the wrong unit.

Example Wrong Settings

Package is 40 x 30 x 30 in. (length + girth = 160 in.) and the shipping policy uses USPS Priority Mail.

Example Correct Settings

Package dimensions give a length + girth under the service limit, or the policy uses a carrier service that allows the size.

How to fix it

  1. In 3Dsellers, open the listing's package settings and verify length, width and height.
  2. If the numbers are right, open the shipping policy and switch to a service that accepts oversized parcels (for example UPS Ground or FedEx Home Delivery), or use freight.
  3. Publish again.

How to prevent it

Save package dimensions for large products carefully, and keep a separate shipping policy for oversized items with carriers that accept them.
