Quick facts
Seller fees
Wayfair is a supplier program on a wholesale model, not an open marketplace with commissions. It charges no listing fee, subscription or referral fee. The supplier sets a wholesale cost, and Wayfair sets the retail price and keeps the margin. Wayfair does not publish its supplier payment terms publicly.

Seller questions
Wayfair works as a supplier program, not an open marketplace. You apply and must be approved. You sell to Wayfair at a wholesale cost you set, and Wayfair lists the product and controls the retail price. Orders are usually shipped directly to customers by the supplier or through Wayfair's CastleGate fulfillment network.
Wayfair charges no listing fee, monthly subscription or traditional referral commission. Instead, you set a wholesale base cost and Wayfair adds its margin when it sets the retail price. Your real cost is the gap between your wholesale price and what you could charge elsewhere, so set your base cost carefully.
Wayfair sets the retail price, not the supplier. Its pricing system weighs competition, shipping costs and demand, and can change prices without asking you. Suppliers control only the wholesale cost they submit. Keep that cost high enough to protect your margin if Wayfair discounts the item.
Seller guides list drop-ship capability and product liability insurance of at least $1 million per occurrence and $2 million in aggregate. Wayfair also expects accurate product descriptions, correct labeling, clear assembly instructions and safe packaging. Have your company registration, insurance certificates and fulfillment details ready before you apply.
CastleGate is Wayfair's own warehousing and fulfillment network. Suppliers can store inventory there instead of shipping every order themselves. Linnworks reports that CastleGate can offer two-day delivery to about 97% of Wayfair customers and that CastleGate items can rank better in search. Using it is optional.
Wayfair does not publish a set timeline. Seller guides report that the first review takes a few business days and full approval takes one to four weeks. Timing depends on your category, how complete your application is, and how quickly you provide insurance and fulfillment details.
Existing suppliers get help through Partner Home at partners.wayfair.com, which includes a support area for account, catalog and order questions. Wayfair also lists supplierservicedesk@wayfair.com as the contact for supplier questions. Prospective suppliers who have not applied yet should use the Apply Here link on the same site.
