No setup fee and no monthly subscription. Walmart charges a referral fee on each sale, a percentage of the total sales price that ranges from 3% to 20% depending on category, with some categories tiered by price (for example Consumer Electronics 8%, Home, Kitchen, Decor and Garden 15%, Jewelry 20% on amounts up to $250). Payment processing is included. Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS) adds fulfillment fees by weight and size and storage fees of $0.75 per cubic foot per month outside peak season.

How to start selling
Apply on marketplace.walmart.com with a business tax ID (an SSN is not accepted), a personal ID, documents that verify your business name and address, and proof of marketplace or ecommerce sales history. Products need GTIN/UPC codes, and you need a US warehouse that handles returns or must use Walmart Fulfillment Services. After approval you complete onboarding, tax and payment setup in Seller Center.
Seller questions
There is no setup fee and no monthly fee. Walmart takes a referral fee on each sale, which ranges from 3% to 20% of the total sales price depending on category, and some categories use lower rates above a price point. If you use Walmart Fulfillment Services, you also pay fulfillment fees based on weight and size, plus monthly storage fees.
Walmart asks for a personal ID, a business tax ID or business license number (an SSN is not accepted), your business entity type, documents that verify your business name and address, and a history of marketplace or ecommerce sales. Products must have GTIN or UPC codes and meet prohibited product rules, and you need US fulfillment with returns handling or WFS.
Yes, in some cases. Walmart accepts applications from certain countries using a W-8BEN-E tax form instead of a US tax ID, and non-US sellers have a longer new seller payment hold. Existing US Marketplace sellers can also expand to Walmart's marketplaces in Canada, Mexico and Chile. Check the application form for the current list of eligible countries.
Walmart generally pays sellers every 14 days. Each payment period closes on alternating Fridays, and the payout is sent to the bank account set up in Seller Center within several days after the period ends. Missing tax documents, high return or chargeback rates, or policy violations can delay or stop payments.
Yes. New US sellers have payments held for up to 14 days, and non-US sellers for up to 21 days. The hold ends once 90 days have passed since your first order shipped and you have received $7,500 in payments. Walmart says new sellers could receive payments as soon as 30 days after the first sale.
Walmart does not have a self-service delete button. Unpublish or retire your items, complete or cancel open orders, handle pending returns and remove any WFS inventory, then open a case with Walmart Partner Support in Seller Center asking to deactivate the account. Remaining funds are paid out after returns and chargebacks are settled.
Walmart monitors seller performance standards such as on-time shipping, valid tracking, cancellation rate, refund rate and customer feedback, along with policy rules on prohibited or counterfeit products. Sellers who fall below standards can get warnings, have listings unpublished, or be suspended. Review the notice in Seller Center, fix the issue and respond through Partner Support to appeal.
Sign in to Seller Center and open the Help section to reach Partner Support, where you can create and track a support case by topic. Walmart Marketplace Learn has guides for common questions on onboarding, items, orders, payments and taxes. Include order numbers, SKUs and screenshots in your case to speed up the answer.
Walmart issues Form 1099-K to US sellers who pass the IRS reporting threshold, which is now more than $20,000 in gross payments and more than 200 transactions in a calendar year. Walmart also collects and remits sales tax in states with marketplace facilitator laws. Keep your W-9 information current in Seller Center to avoid payment delays.
