Since 1 April 2026 sellers can get discounts on the commission of 10% each for a CHF 1 auction start price, for sales with Ricardo Plus where the buyer picks Kauferschutz+, on every 5th sale, and for high-volume professional sellers; discounts combine up to 30%. How can I lower the Ricardo success commission?

Since 1 April 2026 Ricardo gives a 10% commission discount for auctions starting at CHF 1, for sales where Ricardo Plus is active and the buyer chooses Kauferschutz+, and on every 5th successful sale. High-volume professional sellers get a further 10% on each order. Discounts can be combined, saving up to 30% of the commission.

How do I pay my Ricardo fees?

Open your fee overview and choose Pay. You can pay by TWINT or by e-banking with the QR bill, both without charges, or by Mastercard or Visa credit card, which is processed immediately. Paying at a post office counter or by bank order adds CHF 4.50 in booking charges. Always include your username or member number.

With Kauferschutz+, the buyer pays by TWINT or card when ordering, Ricardo holds the money, and pays it to your bank account after you ship and the buyer confirms receipt. Sellers with at least 100 sales a year, a rating of 99.0% or higher, an account active for 12 months and two-factor authentication get express payouts shortly after the buyer pays.

How do I delete my Ricardo account?

Go to your user account, open user details and scroll to Delete account, or in the app go to Settings, account data. First pay all fees, close running listings and finish all transactions. Transactions under 60 days old that are not marked as received block deletion. Deleting removes your personal data and any remaining credit, and cannot be undone.

How is VAT handled for sales on Ricardo?

Since 1 January 2025 Ricardo must collect Swiss VAT on sales to buyers in Switzerland and Liechtenstein and pay it to the Federal Tax Administration on behalf of sellers. VAT-registered sellers should check that their company details and VAT number are correct in their account. Ricardo must also share seller details and sales figures with the tax authority on request.

Am I protected as a seller if the buyer does not pay?

Ricardo seller protection covers up to CHF 250 per case if you can prove delivery and the buyer did not pay, or if a parcel was not collected and returned to you. A deductible of CHF 10 or 10% of the price applies, capped at CHF 25. Cash on pickup, letter post, event tickets and transport damage are excluded.

Ricardo asks sellers to try its AI assistant Lea or the online help first, since most questions are answered there. You can also send a request through the contact form. Ricardo says it currently has high request volume and replies can take up to 4 to 5 days depending on the topic. Disputes can also go to the independent ombudsman for secondhand platforms.
