No longer accepts sellers. UK sellers commonly use Vinted, eBay UK or Depop instead, and Mercari still runs in the US and Japan.

No. Mercari ended its UK service in 2019. Buying and selling stopped on January 15, 2019, and the app stopped working on March 15, 2019. Mercari kept running its marketplace in Japan and the United States, but UK residents cannot sell through a UK version of the app.
Mercari announced the UK closure in December 2018. The shutdown had two steps: from January 15, 2019 all buying and selling ended and most features were restricted, and from March 15, 2019 the app no longer worked. March 15, 2019 was also the deadline for users to withdraw money from their accounts.
Mercari said it had not grown as quickly as it hoped in the UK. Its UK company, Mercari Europe, posted an operating loss of about 7.3 million pounds in the financial year ending June 2018. Commentators also pointed to limited marketing spend after its 2017 push as a reason the app did not gain traction.
Mercari told users their balances were safe and asked them to withdraw any money in their Mercari account before March 15, 2019, when the app stopped working. Sellers needed to finish any open orders before January 15, 2019, when buying and selling ended on the platform.
UK sellers of secondhand items commonly use Vinted, eBay UK, Depop and Facebook Marketplace. Vinted and Depop focus on clothing and fashion, while eBay UK covers most categories. Fees and buyer protection charges differ between them, so check each site's current seller fee page before moving listings.
