Both listing types are free to publish and charge a percentage when the item sells. In Mexico, Clasica has the lower fee, 8% to 16%, and does not offer interest-free months. Premium costs 12.5% to 20.5% and lets buyers pay in up to 18 interest-free months. MercadoLideres and professional Mercado Pago users can only publish in Clasica or Premium.
In some cases, yes. In Mexico, free listings last 60 days, get low exposure and do not offer interest-free months. Used items can be sold free for up to 20 sales a year, and new items for up to 5 sales a year. You can have at most 10 free listings at the same time, each with a stock of 1 unit.
Yes. Mercado Libre Mexico requires the product price to be MXN 35 or more so the sale can cover selling fees. To sell lower value items, you can offer packs or combos of several units instead. Products in the Supermercado section have their own separate costs, so check that section's rules before listing groceries.
Mercado Libre shows the estimated amount you will receive in the details of each listing. It is calculated from the conditions you offer buyers, such as listing type, shipping and installments, and from the taxes that apply to your sale. A separate help article lists every cost included in that calculation for sellers in Mexico.
Selling kits does not change the selling fee: Clasica or Premium percentages stay the same as for single products. You can also create volume discount promotions, set wholesale prices for business buyers, or build virtual kits from existing listings. Offering wholesale prices can give you a shipping cost saving based on prices and unit volume.
