Seller questions

Is Letgo still available in the US?

No. The Letgo app no longer works as a separate marketplace in North America. OfferUp merged Letgo into its own app on August 31, 2020, and US Letgo users were moved to OfferUp. Wikipedia lists the Letgo brand as still active only in a few countries outside North America, such as Turkey, Spain and Norway.

When did Letgo merge with OfferUp?

OfferUp announced on March 25, 2020 that it was acquiring Letgo's US business and raised $120 million at the same time. The Letgo marketplace was combined into the OfferUp app on August 31, 2020. A temporary legacy site let sellers finish transactions already in progress until September 21, 2020.

What happened to Letgo accounts, ratings and listings?

Letgo users could sign in to OfferUp with their Letgo login, and reports said ratings, sales and purchase history were meant to carry over to the new OfferUp account. Some users reported that listings and ratings disappeared during the switch and that chats in progress were cut off, so OfferUp opened legacy.letgo.com to finish open deals.

What happened to Letgo users in Canada?

Canadian users lost access to the marketplace. OfferUp is only available to US residents, so when Letgo was merged into OfferUp, Canadian Letgo sellers had no direct successor app. They could use the temporary legacy Letgo site only to finish deals already in progress before it closed on September 21, 2020.

What are alternatives to Letgo?

In the US the direct successor is OfferUp, which absorbed Letgo's users. Other local selling options include Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, Nextdoor and Mercari for shipped items. In Canada, sellers commonly use Kijiji and Facebook Marketplace. Local apps are usually free to list, while shipped sales often carry a service fee.
