Buy on Google (Google Shopping Actions)

No. Google's help center says the Buy on Google program was discontinued in September 2023. Listings on Google Search and Shopping no longer show a Buy on Google checkout option. Merchants can still show products on Google through Merchant Center, but the purchase now happens on the merchant's own website instead of inside Google.

Buy on Google for Search and Shopping ended in the United States on September 26, 2023. Google emailed merchants ahead of the date and said no action was required to end participation. Merchants could also opt out earlier. The program had started in March 2018 under the name Shopping Actions before being renamed Buy on Google.

Google said it was moving to a simpler checkout flow that takes shoppers from Google straight to the checkout page on a merchant's website. It reported that merchants in its checkout pilot saw gross merchandise value gains of 1 to 10 percent, and that more merchants were already using that pilot than Buy on Google.

Merchants had to fulfill all orders received through September 2023 and honor their return policies. Google said order data would stay accessible for one year after the program ended. Shoppers with questions about an old Buy on Google order are told to contact the merchant that processed it, since that merchant remains responsible for service.

Most merchants keep their product feed in Google Merchant Center and use free listings or Shopping ads that link to their own online store checkout. Google also offered an interest form for its newer checkout pilot. Sellers without their own store can use marketplaces such as Amazon, Walmart Marketplace or eBay, which also advertise on Google.
