Seller fees
No subscription or listing fee. Commission is charged only on sold items and has two parts: a fixed amount per item (depends on item type and selling price including VAT) and a variable percentage of the selling price including VAT, set by category. How to start selling
Create a free business account on the bol Partner Platform. You need a Chamber of Commerce registration (Netherlands KvK, Belgian register or equivalent), a VAT number, and products with valid EAN/GTIN codes that meet bol's assortment policy. Separate rules apply to companies from other EU countries and outside the EU.
Seller questions
Listing your products on bol is free and there is no subscription. You pay commission only when an item sells. Commission is a fixed amount per item plus a percentage of the selling price including VAT, both depending on the category. The exact commission for each item is shown in your seller account.
After an item is delivered, bol pays the purchase amount automatically to your bank account, minus commission. Payouts happen twice a month, on the 1st and the 15th. If a customer returns an item and you accept the return, you receive no payout for it and pay no commission.
To close it permanently, email zakelijkverkopen@bol.com or contact Partnerservice with your sales account number, login email, bank account number and reason. You can also close the shop temporarily under Settings, Shop status. After closure you keep access for 8 weeks (6 weeks if closed for poor performance), and must stop any Shipping via bol Complete subscription yourself.
Bol measures on-time delivery, cancellations and response time. Missing a standard can give a strike. Strikes 1 to 4 bring warnings, 5 strikes close the shop temporarily until you send an improvement plan within 3 weeks, and 7 or more close the account for at least one year. Strikes stay active for 22 weeks.
Sellers can chat with a Partnerservice employee through the Partner Platform or call Partnerservice Monday to Friday between 09:00 and 17:00. Account closure requests can also be emailed to zakelijkverkopen@bol.com. For formal complaints that support cannot solve, bol has an official complaints procedure described on the Partner Platform.
By law the customer must be refunded within 14 days of the return notice, and bol asks sellers to process returns within 7 days. You can accept the return, offer an exchange or repair, reject it for condition issues after contacting the customer, or let the customer keep the item. Contact the customer before choosing any option other than accepting.
Bol must report seller sales data to the tax authorities under DAC7 once a seller sells 30 or more items or receives more than EUR 2,000 a year. Bol sends 3 emails over 60 days asking you to complete your details in the seller account. If they are still incomplete after 60 days, payouts are postponed, and the account can eventually be closed.
Yes, but specific VAT and invoicing rules apply. For non-EU sellers bol can be the deemed supplier for EU VAT purposes, which changes how sales invoices and self-billing invoices work. Commission is charged to non-EU sellers without VAT. Bol's Partner Platform has separate articles explaining the deemed supplier rule and the invoicing procedure.
