Seller questions
Back Market only accepts professional sellers and refurbishers of electronic devices, not private individuals. You need legal and tax documents for your business, proven refurbishing and quality control processes, and the ability to handle customer service and after-sales support. Back Market vets applicants and can ask for product samples.
Back Market does not list its fees on its public seller page. Linnworks reports a standard 10% sales commission on backmarket.com. Other guides report 10% to 20% depending on category and seller agreement. Confirm the exact rate in your seller contract before you set prices.
New sellers pay a security deposit before their listings go live. Back Market holds it so it can refund buyers if a seller fails to handle a return, warranty claim or undelivered order. The amount and release terms are set during onboarding and in your seller agreement.
Back Market gives buyers a one-year warranty on every product and a 30-day return policy. If a device is faulty, the seller must repair or replace it. If the seller cannot, the customer gets a full refund to the original payment method. Warranty and return costs are part of selling on the platform.
Back Market's seller page says it has about 1,800 professional sellers across 17 countries. Its markets include the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy and Spain, along with other European countries. Selling in each market may need its own listings and local compliance.
Expect to provide business registration documents, a tax identification number, proof of address and bank account details. Back Market also runs identity checks, such as a photo holding your ID. Smartphone orders require a valid 15-character IMEI code, so your inventory records must track device identifiers.
Back Market's seller page says sellers get 24/7 seller support, training and a back office for listings, orders, quality metrics and finance. It also offers optional services such as customer care handling and trade-in sourcing. Support contacts are available inside the seller back office after registration.
