Terapeak was a Toronto-based market research company that used supply, demand and pricing data to help online sellers decide what to sell, when to sell it and at what price. eBay signed an agreement to buy Terapeak in December 2017 and moved its tools into Seller Hub. The old paid standalone Terapeak subscription is gone. Today the tool lives in the Seller Hub Research tab as Product Research, which eBay made free for all Seller Hub sellers from April 2021, and Sourcing Insights, which needs a Basic Store subscription or higher. Both show about three years of eBay sales data. The research covers eBay marketplaces only.

FAQ

What happened to Terapeak?

eBay signed an agreement to acquire Terapeak in December 2017. Terapeak was a Toronto-based company that used supply, demand and pricing data to help sellers decide what to sell and at what price. eBay said it would add Terapeak's features, such as sales history and price guidance, to Seller Hub. The standalone product was replaced by research tools inside Seller Hub.

Is Terapeak free now?

Yes, the main tool is. From April 2021 eBay made Terapeak Product Research free for all Seller Hub sellers, so you no longer need a standalone or Store subscription to use it. Terapeak Sourcing Insights is different: it still requires a qualifying eBay Store subscription, which eBay's help page says is a Basic Store or higher.

How do I access Terapeak now?

Open eBay Seller Hub and go to the Research tab, where Terapeak now appears as Product Research. You can also go directly to ebay.com/sh/research. Sourcing Insights is in the same research area for sellers with a Basic Store or higher. eBay's help page says the research tools are also available in its mobile apps.

What is Terapeak Sourcing Insights and who can use it?

Sourcing Insights helps sellers plan what to stock by showing real sales data for whole categories and pointing out areas of opportunity. eBay makes it available to business sellers with a Basic Store subscription or above, at no extra charge beyond the Store fee. Sellers without a qualifying Store can still use Product Research for individual items.

How far back does Terapeak data go?

eBay's help page says Product Research and Sourcing Insights both give access to the last three years of eBay sales data for millions of items. This is longer than the sold listings filter in regular eBay search, which shows recent sales only. Results show actual sold prices rather than asking prices, which helps when setting a price.

Does Terapeak show Amazon or other marketplace data?

No. The Terapeak tools inside Seller Hub cover eBay marketplaces only. They do not show demand from Amazon, Etsy or other platforms. If you sell on several channels, you will need a separate research tool or each marketplace's own reports. Keyword searches also need close matches, so try several versions of a product name.

Can I cancel or export my old Terapeak account?

There is no separate Terapeak subscription anymore, so there is nothing to cancel; Product Research is free in Seller Hub. eBay's help page does not describe an export or download option for research results. The old terapeak.com site did not load when checked in September 2026, so old standalone account data does not appear to be available there.

What are alternatives to Terapeak?

Free options include eBay's own sold listings filter and Product Research in Seller Hub. Third-party eBay research tools include ZIK Analytics and similar sold-data tools. Sellers who want listing, messaging and store management alongside research often use a broader eBay tool such as 3Dsellers. Pick based on whether you need eBay-only data or several marketplaces.
