Shopify Flow is Shopify's free automation app for store owners. It lets merchants build workflows from triggers, conditions and actions, such as tagging high-value customers, holding risky orders, alerting staff when inventory is low or sending data to Google Sheets. It includes hundreds of templates and supports custom logic, scheduled workflows, metafields, B2B, multi-store setups and connections to apps such as Slack, Google Sheets, Asana, Trello and Klaviyo, as well as partner apps that add their own triggers and actions. Flow was once limited to Shopify Plus but is now available on Basic, Grow, Advanced and Plus plans. It automates tasks inside a Shopify store only. It does not connect to eBay directly.

Shopify Flow is free. The Shopify App Store lists it as a free app made by Shopify, and there is no extra monthly fee on top of your Shopify plan. Some advanced actions, such as sending HTTP requests to external services, are reported to be limited to Grow, Advanced and Plus plans. Third-party apps you connect to Flow may have their own charges.
Flow used to be available only on Shopify Plus, but Shopify opened it to more plans in 2023. It is now available on Basic, Grow, Advanced and Plus plans. Guides report that most features are the same on every plan, with the Send HTTP Request action on Grow and higher and custom partner app tasks on Plus.
Common Flow automations include tagging customers or orders, cancelling or holding high-risk orders, notifying staff about low inventory, hiding out-of-stock products, sending Slack messages for large orders and adding rows to Google Sheets. You build workflows by choosing a trigger, adding conditions and selecting actions, or you start from one of hundreds of templates.
Not directly. Shopify Flow automates events inside a Shopify store and connects to apps that offer Flow triggers and actions. It has no built-in eBay or Amazon connector. If a marketplace app installed on your store offers Flow triggers, you may automate some steps through that app, but eBay listing and order management need separate software.
Because Flow is free, there is nothing to cancel. Turn off your workflows in the Flow app, then go to Settings > Apps and sales channels in the Shopify admin, select Shopify Flow and click Uninstall. Save copies of important workflows before uninstalling, since you may need to rebuild them later.
Shopify Flow is supported by Shopify. You can use the Shopify Help Center section on Flow, the Shopify Community forums and Shopify Support from your admin. The Flow app also includes templates with explanations. For complex workflows, Shopify Partners and agencies build custom automations for merchants.
Alternatives for Shopify automation include Mesa, Zapier, Make, Alloy Automation and Arigato. These can connect Shopify to many more outside services than Flow, but most charge monthly fees based on tasks or runs. Flow is often used for in-store automations, while Zapier or Mesa handle cross-app workflows.
