Pirate Ship is a web-based shipping label tool for USPS and UPS. Users buy discounted postage and print labels without a subscription, a per-label fee or a markup on postage. The company says it earns money through official partnerships with USPS and UPS. Orders can be imported from connected stores such as eBay, Shopify and Discogs, or uploaded as a spreadsheet. For eBay, Pirate Ship imports paid orders that are not yet shipped. When you buy a label, it marks the eBay order as shipped and sends the tracking number and carrier to eBay. FAQ

Is Pirate Ship really free?

Yes. Pirate Ship does not charge a monthly fee, a per-label fee or a markup on postage. You pay only for the labels you buy, at its USPS and discounted UPS rates. The company says it makes money through official partnerships with USPS and UPS, and that it runs a lean business so it does not need to charge customers. There is no free trial because there is no paid plan.

How do I connect my eBay store to Pirate Ship?

In your Pirate Ship account, go to Settings > Integrations > Connect New Source and choose eBay. You are sent to eBay to log in and authorize the connection. After that, click Import from eBay, or Import from Integrations if you have several stores, to see orders ready to ship. Click Refresh Data if a recent order does not appear yet.

Does Pirate Ship mark eBay orders as shipped and upload tracking?

Yes. When you buy a label for an imported eBay order, Pirate Ship automatically sets the order to Shipped in eBay and sends the tracking number and carrier to eBay. You do not need to copy tracking by hand. Pirate Ship does not show live shipping rates to your buyers at eBay checkout, so you still set shipping costs in your eBay listings.

Why is my eBay order not showing in Pirate Ship?

Pirate Ship only imports eBay orders with a payment status of Paid or Payment Pending and a fulfillment status of Not Started or In Progress. Orders that are already shipped, or partially refunded, cannot be imported. The order list refreshes on a schedule, so click Refresh Data for the latest orders. If you have several eBay accounts, check that the right one is connected.

What happens if I refund a Pirate Ship label for an eBay order?

Pirate Ship cannot set an eBay order back to Unshipped after you refund its label. The order stays marked as shipped with the old tracking number. To ship it, create a replacement label manually in Pirate Ship, then copy the new tracking number into the order on eBay yourself so the buyer and eBay see the correct tracking.

Can I connect more than one eBay account to Pirate Ship?

Yes. Go to Settings > Integrations, click Connect New Source, choose eBay, and log in with the other eBay account when prompted. Pirate Ship suggests renaming each integration to match the store name so you can tell where each order came from. Its help article does not state a limit on how many eBay accounts can be connected.

Which platforms and carriers does Pirate Ship work with?

Pirate Ship sells USPS labels and discounted UPS labels. Its help center lists store integrations with Big Cartel, BigCommerce, Cratejoy, Discogs, eBay, Ecwid, PayPal, Shopify, Subbly, Square, Squarespace, Wix and WooCommerce. You can also upload a spreadsheet of addresses to create a batch of labels for orders from any other source.

How do I cancel or delete my Pirate Ship account?

Because Pirate Ship is free, there is no subscription to cancel and nothing is billed if you stop using it. If you want your account fully deleted so you can no longer log in, contact Pirate Ship through the blue chat button on its website or email support@pirateship.com, and the team will delete it for you.

How do I contact Pirate Ship support?

Use the live chat button at the bottom of the Pirate Ship website or email support@pirateship.com. Support is available every day except a few national holidays, from 7 am to 9 pm Pacific Time, which is 10 am to midnight Eastern Time. There is no phone support. The help center at support.pirateship.com has articles on billing, accounts and integrations.

What are alternatives to Pirate Ship for eBay sellers?

eBay sellers can buy labels directly in eBay's own shipping label flow. Other shipping software that imports eBay orders includes ShipStation, Shippo, Stamps.com and Easyship, which typically charge a monthly fee or per-label fees and may support more carriers. Compare the rates you get for your usual package sizes before switching, since discounts vary by carrier and service.
