Kayako is a help desk and customer support platform owned by ESW Capital, which bought it in 2018.
Kayako is a help desk and customer support platform owned by ESW Capital, which bought it in 2018. Its main product, Kayako One, combines a shared inbox for email, live chat, social and voice with a ticketing system, a knowledge base, no-code automation rules, SLA tracking and reporting. Kayako now leads with Kay, an AI agent that triages tickets, drafts replies and can take actions such as refunds, exchanges or address changes through connected systems. Kay can run inside Kayako or on top of Zendesk, Freshdesk, Intercom or Salesforce. For ecommerce teams, Kayako lists Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento and BigCommerce integrations, plus Stripe, Chargebee and Zapier. It does not list an eBay integration, so eBay buyer messages do not flow into Kayako natively. It does not connect to eBay.

FAQ
Kayako lists Kayako One, its full help desk, at a flat $79 per agent per month plus $1 for each ticket that its AI resolves. Kayako presents this as a predictable model compared with the per-resolution fees charged by Zendesk, Intercom and Gorgias. For an exact quote based on your team size and ticket volume, Kayako asks you to talk to its team.
You pay $1 only when Kay, Kayako's AI agent, fully resolves a ticket without a human agent, either by taking an action or by giving an answer the customer confirms solves the problem. Escalations to humans, partial resolutions and simple deflections are not charged. Kayako says there are no seat fees or setup fees for Kay, and it can also run on your existing help desk.
Kayako's website does not advertise a free trial. Instead it offers a quick product tour, a demo request and a strategy session with its implementation team, which reviews your ticket volumes and plans a phased rollout. If you need a trial, ask for one during the demo, since the public pages do not say whether one is available.
There is no cancel button inside Kayako. To end a subscription, email cancellations@trilogy.com and include either a copy of a paid invoice or the billing email and mailing address registered on the account. You can ask for a full backup of your instance in the same request, or ask for immediate deletion of all data, which cannot be undone.
Yes. Kayako's cancellation article says you can request a full backup or data dump of your instance when you close the account. It also links to guides on exporting Kayako data to another support system, exporting users and organizations through the API, and preparing for a migration by restricting customer access and requesting a full backup.
Kayako lists integrations with Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento and BigCommerce for ecommerce support, so agents can see order details and its AI can answer order status and return questions. It does not list an eBay integration, so eBay buyer messages are not brought into Kayako natively, and eBay orders do not appear next to tickets.
Yes. On 2026-09-14 the Kayako website, pricing page and help center all loaded normally. The site footer names ESW Operations, LLC, and the product is now built around Kay, an AI support agent, alongside the Kayako One help desk. The older Kayako Classic product is still linked from the site for existing customers.
Existing customers use the Kayako help center at help.kayako.com, which has self-help articles on customer accounts, billing, email and chat channels, automations and data exports. The help center home page flags a new support portal migration for how the team assists customers. Invoice, billing contact and card questions are covered in its Customer Accounts section.
Kayako's own site has comparison pages for Zendesk, Freshdesk, Intercom, Help Scout, Groove and HappyFox, which are the help desks it competes with most directly. Online sellers who mainly need to answer marketplace buyers may also look at eDesk or 3Dsellers, whose helpdesk brings eBay messages into one inbox with the related order details.
