An eBay staff member on the eBay Community said the top third-party connector apps were rated higher by sellers than the eBay app for Shopify. When comparing options, look at price, listing options, category and item specifics mapping, and how each app keeps inventory in sync between Shopify and eBay.
Yes. Listings created through the eBay app for Shopify are regular eBay listings on your eBay account. You can revise, relist or end them directly on eBay, for example from the Listings tab in Seller Hub. You can also connect a third-party connector app to manage them from Shopify. Orders from those listings appear in the Orders tab in Seller Hub, where you can print labels and upload tracking.
eBay has pointed Shopify merchants to third-party connector apps, naming Codisto (now Shopify Marketplace Connect), CedCommerce, inkFrog, Sellbrite and Magnalister. eBay also said sellers can manage listings and orders directly on the eBay website. Each app has its own pricing and features, so compare them before choosing one to connect your Shopify store to eBay.
Shopify Marketplace Connect, formerly Codisto, is Shopify's own app for syncing a Shopify catalog with marketplaces including eBay and Amazon. A Shopify Marketplace Connect staff reply on the Shopify Community in July 2024 said the app is free up to 50 marketplace orders per month, then charges 1% of sales from the 51st order, up to $99 per month. eBay selling fees are charged separately.
Your listings and orders are stored in your eBay account, so you can download them from eBay. In Seller Hub, the Reports tab lets you download listing and order reports as Excel or CSV files, with order reports covering 1 to 90 days at a time. You can also schedule order reports to run hourly, daily, weekly or monthly. Product data in your Shopify store is kept in Shopify.
The eBay app for Shopify is built by eBay Inc.
