FAQ
Despatch Bay was a trading name of The SaleGroup Ltd. Companies House records show the company went into creditors' voluntary liquidation, with winding up starting on 7 February 2024 and two liquidators appointed that day. The company was dissolved on 20 July 2026. A separate dormant company, Despatch Bay Limited, was struck off in October 2024. The despatchbay.com address now shows a parked domain page.
No. Despatch Bay is no longer operating. Its website now loads a generic parked domain page instead of the shipping platform, and the company behind it went into liquidation in February 2024. Its Trustpilot profile shows no reviews in the last 12 months, and the most recent reviews, from January 2024, describe the service suddenly stopping. Sellers need to use a different shipping service.
Despatch Bay worked on a prepaid balance that customers topped up before booking parcels. A Trustpilot review from 23 January 2024 says the service stopped on 22 January 2024, shortly after the reviewer added GBP 600, and that they were waiting to hear from administrators about a refund. Customers owed money would normally need to contact the appointed liquidators, whose details are on Companies House.
Despatch Bay had no account fees, subscriptions or contracts; customers paid only for the parcels they sent, using a prepaid balance with optional automatic top-ups. Rates were tailored to shipping volume. Its 2020 pricing page listed packets up to 2kg from GBP 2.25, parcels up to 30kg from GBP 4.36 and worldwide parcels from GBP 3.81. These historical prices no longer apply because the service closed.
Despatch Bay integrated with eBay, Amazon, Etsy, Shopify and WooCommerce, and also connected through Linnworks, Shiptheory and Khaos Control Cloud or order file imports. Its eBay page said there was no limit on the number of eBay or other marketplace accounts a user could connect, with orders managed on one screen and tracking updates sent automatically. These integrations no longer work because the service has closed.
Despatch Bay offered services from Royal Mail, Parcelforce, DX, DHL Express, DHL Parcel UK and its own Despatch Bay Express collections. In February 2024 its site listed packets up to 3kg, parcels up to 30kg, worldwide delivery to 200+ destinations and pallets up to 1,250kg. Customers could book courier collections or drop parcels at a local depot or Post Office, depending on the service.
Despatch Bay support no longer exists. When it operated, customer support hours were Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.30pm, excluding bank holidays, and registered users could use an online support system while recipients used a contact form. Because the business closed in 2024, former customers with unresolved claims or balances should look up The SaleGroup Ltd on Companies House for the liquidators' details.
UK sellers who used Despatch Bay can look at other parcel booking services that connect to marketplaces. Interparcel lists integrations with eBay, Amazon, Etsy, Shopify, WooCommerce and other platforms. Other options include Royal Mail Click & Drop, Parcel2Go, Packlink and shipping software such as Shiptheory. Compare courier choice, collection options, and whether each service imports eBay orders and uploads tracking automatically.
