eBay Error 107: The category is not valid, select another category.

Why this happens

Usually, this means the category and the eBay Site do not match. Why eBay enforces this: Category IDs are different on each eBay site, and categories are retired or split over time. eBay rejects an ID that does not exist on the listing's site or is no longer a valid leaf category. When it usually happens: It shows up when listings are copied from one eBay site to another, or when a category mapping still points to an old, retired category.
