The duration "[____]" day(s) is not available for this listing type, or invalid for category "[____]".

A listing duration was sent that is not valid for the format or category (for example a duration on a fixed-price listing).

Why this happens

A "listing duration" value has been set, but the item is a "Fixed Price" listing. eBay only accepts a value for "duration" if the listing is an Auction. Why eBay enforces this: Fixed-price listings on eBay run until cancelled, and auctions only allow specific durations that can also vary by category. eBay rejects a duration that does not match the listing format or the category's allowed list. When it usually happens: It appears most often when an auction is converted to fixed price but keeps its old duration, or when a CSV import includes a duration column for fixed-price items.

How to fix it

  1. In 3Dsellers, open the listing. For Fixed Price, set the duration to Good 'Til Cancelled.
  2. For auctions, choose a duration the category allows (1, 3, 5, 7 or 10 days).
  3. For CSV imports, check the duration column.
  4. Publish again.

How to prevent it

Remove the duration column from CSV imports for fixed-price items, and reset the duration whenever you switch a listing between auction and fixed price.
