eBay rejects the item location's postal code. Check its format against the country and republish.

Why this happens

eBay is rejecting the item location's postal code. Why eBay enforces this: eBay uses the postal code to place the item on its map for delivery estimates and calculated shipping. It validates the code against the country, so a code that does not exist or has the wrong format is refused. When it usually happens: It usually appears when the country was changed but the old postal code stayed, or when leading zeros were lost in a spreadsheet.

Country United States with postal code 2139 (the leading zero of 02139 was dropped by Excel).

How to fix it

  1. In 3Dsellers, open the listing's Item Location.
  2. Check the postal code format for the country: five digits for the US, the full outward and inward code for the UK, and so on.
  3. Make sure the country and postal code belong together.
  4. Publish again.

How to prevent it

Format postal code columns as text in spreadsheets, and save a correct default item location on each eBay account.
