The quantity must be a valid number greater than 0.

The quantity is empty, zero or not a number. Set at least 1 to publish; zero is only accepted on revisions with out-of-stock control.

Why this happens

The value for Quantity is not a valid number, or the value is set to zero. Why eBay enforces this: eBay needs a whole number of available units to know how many buyers can purchase. An empty, negative or non-numeric quantity is rejected, and a quantity of 0 is only accepted when out-of-stock control keeps the listing alive. When it usually happens: It usually appears after inventory sync reads an empty stock value from a supplier, or when a CSV quantity column contains text such as 'in stock'. On eBay's local sites this error reads as follows. German: Die StĂŒckzahl muss eine gĂŒltige Zahl sein oder mehr als 0 betragen.

Example Wrong Settings

Quantity column in the CSV says 'available' instead of a number.

How to fix it

  1. In 3Dsellers, open the listing and set the quantity to a whole number of 1 or more.
  2. If you need the listing live with zero stock, publish it with quantity 1 first and enable eBay's out-of-stock control on the account; later revisions to 0 are then accepted.
  3. For CSV imports, check the quantity column for blanks or text.
  4. Publish again.

How to prevent it

Turn on eBay's out-of-stock control, and make sure supplier feeds send numeric stock values with a sensible default when stock is unknown.

Example Correct Settings

Quantity is 12; out-of-stock control is on so later updates to 0 keep the listing alive.
