Why this happens

The handling time (max time until shipping) was changed, but eBay temporarily blocked this action to protect buyers who are actively engaged in purchasing your item (or to prevent changes from occurring immediately before the listing ends). Why eBay enforces this: Handling time is the promised dispatch time buyers rely on. eBay locks it while there are bids or offers, or less than 12 hours left, so buyers get the delivery they were shown. When it usually happens: It usually appears during busy seasons when sellers increase handling time on all listings at once.

Example Wrong Settings

Handling time raised from 1 to 3 days on auctions that already have bids.

How to fix it

  1. Resolve open Best Offers on the listing in eBay.
  2. For an auction with a bid, wait for it to end and relist with the new handling time.
  3. Republish the shipping policy change from 3Dsellers afterwards.

How to prevent it

Use a separate shipping policy for busy periods and assign it to listings as they become editable.
