A field named in the error (country, shipping service, package details) is missing or badly formatted. Fill it correctly and republish.

Why this happens

The value for the field (shown in the eBay error) is missing or not formatted correctly. Common listing data this error includes are <Item.Country> — <Item.ShippingDetails> — <Item.PictureDetails.____> Why eBay enforces this: Every eBay listing field must follow a fixed format, for example a two-letter country code or a number for weight. When a required field is empty or in the wrong format, eBay returns this error with the field name in angle brackets. When it usually happens: It appears most often with CSV imports, where a column is empty, mapped to the wrong field, or contains text such as 'kg' next to a number.

Example Wrong Settings

Item.Country is empty because the CSV column for country was left blank.

How to fix it

  1. Look at the tag name in the error, for example Item.Country or Item.ShippingDetails; it tells you which field failed.
  2. In 3Dsellers, open the listing and fill or correct that field. Common causes: an empty country in the item location, a shipping service that does not exist on this eBay site, a package weight with letters in it.
  3. For CSV imports, fix the column in the file and re-import.
  4. Publish again.

How to prevent it

Fill default item location and package settings on the seller account so imports inherit them, and preview a CSV import on a few rows before running the full file.

Example Correct Settings

Item.Country is set to US and the postal code and city match that country.
