To use the Buy It Now option, you must meet the site listing requirements.

Your seller account does not meet eBay's requirements for Buy It Now on this site. Check Seller Hub for account tasks or list as an auction.

Why this happens

Your seller account may be limited on the eBay site you are publishing to. Why eBay enforces this: eBay limits Buy It Now for sellers who have not met site requirements, such as verified identity, a payment method on file or a minimum feedback score. This reduces fraud from brand-new or unverified accounts. When it usually happens: It usually appears on new accounts, on accounts selling on a new eBay site for the first time, or after eBay adds a restriction.

Example Wrong Settings

A new account with feedback score 0 publishes 50 Buy It Now listings on eBay UK.

How to fix it

  1. Log in to the Seller Hub of the eBay site you are listing on (US, UK, DE and so on) and read any red notices on the Overview page.
  2. Complete what eBay asks for: identity verification, payment details or a minimum feedback score.
  3. If the requirement cannot be met yet, change the listing format to Auction in 3Dsellers and publish.
  4. When the account qualifies, switch back to Fixed Price and republish.

How to prevent it

Complete verification on every eBay site you sell on before bulk publishing, and build a small sales history on new accounts first.

Example Correct Settings

The account completes verification in Seller Hub and starts with a few auctions until eBay lifts the limit.
