eBay's inventory service could not publish the offer because listing data it expects is missing or inconsistent. Complete the listing and republish.

Why this happens

eBay's Inventory API could not publish the offer because part of the listing data it expects (item specifics, condition description or catalog details) is missing or inconsistent on eBay's side. Why eBay enforces this: eBay's inventory service builds an offer from several records (item, offer, product details). When one piece it expects is missing or out of step, it cannot publish and returns this generic input error. When it usually happens: It usually appears on French and other European sites after required item specifics or condition descriptions were added to a category. On eBay's local sites this error reads as follows. French: Erreur de saisie. Seller Inventory Service ne peut pas publier les données. Informations complémentaires introuvables. Réessayez ou contactez le Service clients.

Listing published without a required condition description in a category that now needs one.

How to fix it

  1. In 3Dsellers, open the listing and check that Condition, Category and required Item Specifics are complete.
  2. Publish again.
  3. If it keeps failing, end the listing on eBay and publish it as a new listing.

How to prevent it

Review required item specifics for your main categories every few months, and fill them in your product templates.
