An auto-part listing is in a category that does not accept auto parts. Move it to eBay Motors Parts & Accessories or drop the compatibility list.

Why this happens

The listing has vehicle compatibility data or auto-part specifics but is placed in a category that does not support auto parts, or in a parent category that is not allowed for parts. Why eBay enforces this: Auto-related items must be listed in eBay Motors Parts & Accessories leaf categories so compatibility and fitment work. When it usually happens: It usually appears when parts are mapped to general categories.

Example Wrong Settings

A brake pad with a compatibility list is placed in a general "Other" category.

How to fix it

  1. In 3Dsellers, open the listing and choose the right leaf category under eBay Motors > Parts & Accessories.
  2. If the item is not an auto part, remove the vehicle compatibility list instead.
  3. Publish again.

How to prevent it

Map all auto parts to eBay Motors leaf categories.
