A compliance document referenced on the listing has an ID eBay does not recognize. Remove or replace it.

Why this happens

A compliance document (for example a certificate or declaration required in some EU categories) was referenced with an ID that eBay does not recognize. Why eBay enforces this: Compliance documents such as certificates must be uploaded to eBay first. A document number that eBay does not know is refused. When it usually happens: It usually appears on EU listings after GPSR (product safety) requirements were added. On eBay's local sites this error reads as follows. German: Dokument Nr. ist ungĂŒltig.

Example Wrong Settings

Listing references document number 4711 that was never uploaded to eBay.

How to fix it

  1. In 3Dsellers, open the listing's compliance or regulatory section.
  2. Remove the invalid document reference, or replace it with a document uploaded through eBay's document service.
  3. Publish again.

How to prevent it

Upload compliance documents once per product and reuse the IDs eBay returns.
