Why this happens

The Certified Refurbished / Seller Refurbished conditions on eBay require seller approval per category. Your account is not approved for that condition in this category. Why eBay enforces this: eBay's Refurbished program requires approval per category so buyers get tested, warranty-backed items. Unapproved sellers cannot use those conditions. When it usually happens: It usually appears when condition mappings send Refurbished for electronics from supplier feeds. On eBay's local sites this error reads as follows. German: VerkĂ€ufer hat in dieser Kategorie keine Berechtigung fĂŒr die Verwendung des Artikelzustands „Refurbished“.

Example Wrong Settings

A phone is listed with condition "Seller Refurbished" by a seller who has not been approved for the eBay Refurbished program.

How to fix it

  1. In 3Dsellers, change the condition to one you may use, such as Used or Open Box, and publish.
  2. To sell as refurbished, apply for eBay's Refurbished program for the category and wait for approval before switching back.

How to prevent it

Map supplier refurbished items to Used or Open Box unless your account is approved.
