eBay could not turn the listing's custom shipping, payment or return settings into business policies. Use saved policies instead.

Why this happens

The listing is being published with inline shipping / payment / return settings, and eBay tried to convert them into business policies but its policy service failed. Common when the account uses business policies and the inline settings do not match anything valid. Why eBay enforces this: Accounts using business policies cannot publish listings with custom shipping, payment or return settings. eBay tries to convert them into policies, and fails when they do not match anything valid. When it usually happens: It usually appears on listings created before business policies were turned on. On eBay's local sites this error reads as follows. German: FĂŒr dieses Angebot können keine Rahmenbedingungen erstellt werden. Der Aufruf an den Basisdienst konnte nicht ausgefĂŒhrt werden.

Example Wrong Settings

A listing is published with custom shipping settings instead of a saved shipping policy on an account that has business policies enabled.

How to fix it

  1. In 3Dsellers, open the listing and replace custom shipping, payment and return settings with saved business policies from the eBay account.
  2. Publish again. If it still fails, wait a few minutes; eBay's policy service can be temporarily down.

How to prevent it

Assign saved business policies to all listings and stop using custom per-listing settings.
