Why this happens

The eBay category restricts what is allowed in a particular Item Specific detail. Update or remove this info from the listing. Why eBay enforces this: Some categories allow only specific values for certain item specifics. A value outside the allowed list is refused. When it usually happens: It usually appears after eBay tightens allowed values in a category, or with values imported from other marketplaces.

The item specific/detail "Brand" is set to "Varies"

How to fix it

  1. Read the item specific name and the rejected value in the error.
  2. In 3Dsellers, open the listing's Item Specifics and choose one of the values eBay suggests for that field, or "Does not apply".
  3. For many listings, add a mapping rule that converts your value to eBay's accepted one.
  4. Publish again.

How to prevent it

Use eBay's suggested values for specifics and add mapping rules for the values your suppliers send.

Example Correct Settings

Enter a Brand name that matches other listing details, use "does not apply," or create a custom item specific called "Brands"
