Why this happens

eBay allows up to 250 variations per listing. The listing has more (a large size x color matrix, for example). Why eBay enforces this: eBay allows up to 250 variations in one listing so the size and color menus stay manageable. When it usually happens: It usually appears on products with many size and color combinations, such as shoes or apparel.

Example Wrong Settings

12 colors x 25 sizes = 300 variations.

How to fix it

  1. In 3Dsellers, open the Variations tab and reduce the combinations to 250 or fewer.
  2. Or split the product into several listings (for example one per color group).
  3. Publish again.

How to prevent it

Split large ranges into several listings, for example one per color family or size range.

Example Correct Settings

A listing with 10 colors x 20 sizes = 200 variations.
