An item specific has more values than eBay allows (usually 30). Trim the list and republish.

Why this happens

An item specific (for example Compatible Model, Alternative Color Names or OE/OEM Reference Number) was sent with more values than eBay allows for that field. Most multi-value specifics accept up to 30 values. Why eBay enforces this: eBay limits the number of values per item specific, usually 30, so filters stay usable. Longer lists are refused. When it usually happens: It usually appears on auto parts with long OE/OEM number lists or compatible model lists. On eBay's local sites this error reads as follows. German: Das Artikelmerkmal … enthält zu viele Werte. Reduzieren Sie die Anzahl der Werte auf 30 oder weniger und versuchen Sie es noch einmal.

Compatible Model contains 45 model names separated by commas.

How to fix it

  1. Read the item specific name in the error.
  2. In 3Dsellers, open the listing's Item Specifics and reduce that field to 30 values or fewer.
  3. If the list comes from a feed or CSV, shorten it at the source.
  4. Publish again.

How to prevent it

Keep the most important values in the specific and move full reference lists into the description.
