The value in the named field (EAN, UPC, brand and so on) is not accepted. Use a valid value or "Does not apply".

Why this happens

eBay recognizes the item and requires a different EAN than the one set for the listing, or the EAN contains an invalid character. Why eBay enforces this: eBay checks identifiers and some specifics against its catalog and allowed values. A barcode that does not exist or a placeholder brand such as OEM is refused. When it usually happens: It is one of the most common errors in 3Dsellers logs, usually Brand set to OEM, Generic or N/A from supplier feeds.

How to fix it

  1. Read the field name and value in the error.
  2. In 3Dsellers, open the listing's Item Specifics and correct that value: a real barcode, a real brand name, or "Does not apply" (for Brand use "Unbranded" if there is none).
  3. For imports, fix the source column or add a mapping rule that replaces placeholder values such as "OEM" or "N/A".
  4. Publish again.

How to prevent it

Add a mapping rule that turns placeholder brands like OEM, N/A or Generic into Unbranded before publishing.

Brand: Unbranded (or the real brand name).
