Why this happens

eBay recognizes the item, or the eBay category requires you enter a UPC for the listing. Why eBay enforces this: eBay matches listings to its product catalog using UPC or EAN. In categories where eBay recognizes the product, a barcode or 'Does not apply' is required. When it usually happens: It usually appears in electronics, toys and media on sites like eBay US, DE, IT and ES. On eBay's local sites this error reads as follows. German: Das Feld EAN fehlt. FĂŒgen Sie bitte EAN zum Angebot hinzu und versuchen Sie es noch einmal. Italian: Manca il campo EAN. Aggiungi EAN all'inserzione e riprova. Spanish: El campo EAN estĂĄ vacĂ­o. Añade EAN al anuncio y vuelve a intentarlo.

How to fix it

  1. In 3Dsellers, open the listing's Item Specifics and fill the UPC / EAN field with the product barcode.
  2. If the product has no barcode, enter "Does not apply".
  3. For many listings, use a bulk action or mapping rule to set the value.
  4. Publish again.

How to prevent it

Include barcode columns in product imports, and use 'Does not apply' only for products that truly have none.
