Why this happens

The listing is missing Return settings. Why eBay enforces this: Accounts using business policies must attach a return policy to every listing, so buyers know the return terms. When it usually happens: It usually appears when no default return policy is set, or in CSV imports with an empty return policy column.

Example Wrong Settings

A Return Policy was not selected for the listing.

How to fix it

  1. In 3Dsellers, open the listing and select a return policy.
  2. Set a default return policy for the seller account so new listings get one automatically.
  3. For CSV imports, check the return policy ID column.
  4. Publish again.

How to prevent it

Set a default return policy per account and include the return policy column in import templates.

Example Correct Settings

Listing uses the account's default 30-day return policy.
