Why this happens

eBay is rejecting one of the payment methods in your Payment Policy/ settings. Payment methods may be restricted for some categories or products. Why eBay enforces this: Some payment methods are not allowed in certain categories or sites. eBay refuses a payment policy that includes a method the category forbids. When it usually happens: It usually appears when an old payment policy with offline methods is used in a category that only allows electronic payment.

How to fix it

  1. Edit the payment policy in eBay Seller Hub and remove methods that are not allowed (for example offline methods in a category that forbids them).
  2. Refresh policies in 3Dsellers and assign the policy to the listing.
  3. Publish again.

How to prevent it

Keep a clean default payment policy with managed payments, and use offline methods only where allowed.
