Why this happens

The shipping policy update changes the shipping rate table, and eBay blocks that on auctions with bids or listings ending within 12 hours. Why eBay enforces this: Shipping rate tables set costs by region. eBay locks them on listings with bids or ending within 12 hours, so buyers pay what they saw. When it usually happens: It usually appears when rate tables are updated in Seller Hub and pushed to active auctions.

Example Wrong Settings

A shipping policy with a different rate table is assigned to an auction that already has a bid.

How to fix it

  1. Wait for the auction to end, then relist from 3Dsellers with the new shipping policy.
  2. If you changed a shared policy, the error clears per listing as they end.

How to prevent it

Update rate tables outside peak auction periods and expect active auctions to update only after they end.
