Variations Specifics and Item Specifics entered for a Multi-SKU item should be different.

The same item specific is used both as a variation attribute and on the main listing. Remove it from one of them.

Why this happens

An Item Specific is used for Variations and the Primary/Main listing — eBay will only allow the Item Specific for one or the other. Why eBay enforces this: An attribute used to define variations cannot also be set on the main listing, because buyers would see conflicting values. When it usually happens: It usually appears when product templates fill Color on the parent while variations also use Color.

Example Wrong Settings

Variations have a "Color" Item Specific as an option ( e.g., Color: Blue, Color: Green ). But, the main listing also has a "Color" Item Specific ( e.g., Color: Blue and Green )

How to fix it

  1. In 3Dsellers, open the listing's Item Specifics and remove the specific that is also a variation attribute (for example Color).
  2. Publish again.

How to prevent it

Exclude variation attributes from the parent listing's item specifics in your product templates.

Example Correct Settings

Instead of using "Color" in the Primary listing details, create a Custom Item Specific for "Color Options" or "Colors"

The variation attribute name is a reserved eBay word (Quantity, Price and similar). Rename the attribute.

The item specific [item specific name] is missing. Add [item specific name] to this listing, enter a valid value, and then try again.
A required item specific (named in the error) is missing. Add a value or "Does not apply" and republish.
