Data retrieval of the file specified by ExternalPictureURL failed.

eBay could not download one of the photos from its URL. Replace the broken image with a file uploaded to 3Dsellers.

Why this happens

eBay tried to download one of the listing's images from its URL and could not (broken link, server blocked eBay, image too slow to load, or a private URL). Why eBay enforces this: eBay copies every image from the address you provide. If the server is slow, blocks eBay, or the file no longer exists, eBay cannot retrieve the picture and refuses the listing. When it usually happens: It usually appears with images hot-linked from supplier sites, which often block outside downloads or remove old images.

Example Wrong Settings

An image URL points to a supplier site that blocks external downloads, or the image was deleted.

How to fix it

  1. In 3Dsellers, open the listing's Photos tab and open each image in a new browser tab. The one that fails to load or loads very slowly is the culprit.
  2. Delete it and upload the file directly so 3Dsellers hosts it.
  3. Publish again.

How to prevent it

Upload images to 3Dsellers during import instead of linking to supplier sites, so images stay available.
