Why this happens

The package weight on the listing is above 150 lb, which standard carrier services do not accept. Why eBay enforces this: Standard carriers do not accept parcels over 150 lb. eBay requires freight shipping for heavier items so buyers get realistic delivery and costs. When it usually happens: It usually appears on furniture and machinery, or when weight was entered in the wrong unit.

Example Wrong Settings

Package weight is entered as 200 lb (or the unit is wrong, e.g. grams entered as pounds).

How to fix it

  1. In 3Dsellers, check the weight and its unit on the listing's package settings.
  2. If the item really is over 150 lb, assign a freight shipping policy.
  3. Publish again.

How to prevent it

Keep a freight shipping policy for heavy products and double-check weight units on import.

Example Correct Settings

Package weight is 45 lb with a standard shipping policy, or 200 lb with a freight policy.
