eBay rejects the current return policy for this listing. Assign a valid policy that matches the category's requirements.

Why this happens

eBay is rejecting the current Return Policy. (eBay requires particular Return settings for some categories and products) Why eBay enforces this: eBay checks the return policy against category rules and site rules. A policy that was deleted, belongs to another site, or does not meet the category's requirements is refused. When it usually happens: It usually appears after policies were cleaned up in Seller Hub or when listings were copied to another eBay site. On eBay's local sites this error reads as follows. French: Veuillez spécifier des conditions de retour valides.

Example Wrong Settings

A particular electronics category requires at least 30-day returns, but the current policy only allows 14 days to return the item.

How to fix it

  1. In 3Dsellers, open the listing and assign a different return policy, preferably one that accepts 30-day returns.
  2. If the policy was deleted or belongs to another eBay site, refresh policies in 3Dsellers and pick a current one.
  3. For CSV imports, check the return policy ID.
  4. Publish again.

How to prevent it

Refresh policies in 3Dsellers after changing them in Seller Hub, and create return policies per eBay site.
