eBay does not recognize the ZIP code in the item location. Correct it and republish.

Why this happens

eBay does not recognize the zip/ postal code for the Item Location. Why eBay enforces this: eBay US checks ZIP codes against the postal service database for shipping calculations. A ZIP code that is not five digits or does not exist is refused. When it usually happens: It usually appears after spreadsheets drop leading zeros from ZIP codes in the Northeast, or when ZIP+4 codes are entered with extra characters.

Example Wrong Settings

ZIP code 7030 (should be 07030).

How to fix it

  1. In 3Dsellers, open the listing's Item Location and check the ZIP code (five digits for the US).
  2. Remove spaces or special characters. For CSV imports, check that the column is not formatted as a number that drops leading zeros.
  3. Publish again.

How to prevent it

Store ZIP codes as text in spreadsheets and use a saved default location on the eBay account.
