Currency is unchangeable when revising or relisting an item.

The currency of a published listing cannot be changed. End the listing and relist it in the new currency.

Why this happens

eBay will not allow you to change the currency if the item has been published. Why eBay enforces this: A listing's currency is tied to the eBay site and to buyers' bids and past sales. eBay does not let it change on revise or relist, because prices and fees would no longer line up. When it usually happens: It usually appears when a seller moves a listing to another eBay site or corrects a wrong currency after publishing.

Relist of a GBP listing on eBay UK with currency changed to EUR.

How to fix it

  1. Keep the current currency on the live listing.
  2. To change it, end the listing, copy it to Drafts in 3Dsellers, set the new currency (and matching eBay site) and publish as a new listing.

How to prevent it

Double-check site and currency on the first publish, and use copy and publish as new for any currency change.

Example Correct Settings

A copy of the listing is published as new on eBay Germany in EUR.

No <Item.Currency> exists or <Item.Currency> is specified as an empty tag in the request.
The listing has no currency. Set the currency of the eBay site (or fix the CSV column) and republish.
