The shipping service is locked while the listing has bids, active offers, or ends within 12 hours. Resolve offers or relist.

Why this happens

The shipping service in listing details or policy was changed, but eBay temporarily blocked this action to protect buyers who are actively engaged in purchasing your item (or to prevent changes from occurring immediately before the listing ends). Why eBay enforces this: Shipping service and cost are part of the deal a bidder accepts. eBay locks them while an auction has bids, a fixed-price listing has open offers, or the listing ends within 12 hours. When it usually happens: It appears when a shared shipping policy is edited, because the change is pushed to every listing using that policy.

Example Wrong Settings

USPS Priority replaced with USPS Ground Advantage on an auction ending in 6 hours.

How to fix it

  1. Resolve open Best Offers on the listing in eBay.
  2. For an auction with a bid, wait for it to end and relist with the new shipping policy.
  3. Republish from 3Dsellers afterwards.

How to prevent it

Create a new shipping policy for changes and assign it gradually, instead of editing a policy that many active auctions use.

Example Correct Settings

The new service is applied to listings without activity; the rest keep the old one until they end.
