The title or subtitle cannot be changed if an auction-style listing has a bid, pending offer, or ends within 12 hours; or if a fixed price listing has a pending offer or sale.

Why this happens

The title or subtitle was edited, but eBay temporarily blocked this action to protect buyers who are actively engaged in purchasing your item (or to prevent changes from occurring immediately before the listing ends). Why eBay enforces this: Buyers bid and make offers based on the title. eBay locks the title and subtitle while there is buying activity so the item description buyers agreed to does not change. When it usually happens: It is common during bulk title optimization, when some listings in the batch have bids or open offers.

How to fix it

  1. Resolve any open Best Offers on the listing in eBay.
  2. If it is an auction with a bid, wait for it to end and relist with the new title.
  3. Republish from 3Dsellers once the listing is free of offers and bids.
  4. If a title-builder or bulk title change caused this, exclude the listing from the action for now.

How to prevent it

Before bulk title updates, answer open offers and exclude auctions with bids, then rerun the update for the listings that failed.
